About Dain Sansome
Dain was born and raised in Minnesota and received his BA in Biology from Carleton College. At two years old he saw the October 1980 issue of "National Geographic" featuring bamboo, and was hooked. These images stuck with him as he grew up raising vegetables, flowers, and rabbits at home and hiring out his services as a gardener for friends. Dain has traveled extensively in England and Japan and speaks fluent Japanese. Dain spent most of a year in northern England working as a gardener at the Pendle Heritage Centre.
Dain also spent a year in Japan where he worked in bamboo culture and sustainable organic farming.
In he moved to Oregon to pursue bamboo professionally. In 2006 he passed the exams for his Landscape Contractor's license. He is bonded and insured. He also appears in court as an expert witness on bamboo litigation. Dain's wife Suya and daughter Mei contribute greatly to their small family business.
